Luísa Coheur holds a degree in Applied Mathematics and Computing from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and a PhD jointly awarded by IST and Université Blaise-Pascal, in the field of Natural Language Processing. In 2023, she completed a one-year postgraduate program in Higher Education Pedagogy, offered by the Instituto de Educação, Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa). She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IST and a researcher at INESC-ID, in the Human Language Technologies group. She has been recognized as an Excellent Professor more than 20 times according to the IST QUC classification, and in 2023 she was awarded the IST Outstanding Teaching Award by IST’s Pedagogic Council. She won the Best INESC-ID Researcher Award 2025 and the first edition of the Pedagogical Innovation Award from ULisboa (2025). Luísa Coheur loves teaching and is passionate about good stories. She has published three books and two short stories (non-scientific).
